Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is one of the most popular engineering entrance examinations the students of India engage in. The scale of the examination is at an all-time high now and is very common for the aspirants to be curious about the examination. From the application process to eligibility criteria, examination details and more, everything has to be known way ahead of the examination.

JEE Main will be conducted twice a year for B.Tech (and B.Arch) admissions by NTA. The exam decides the admission into NITs, IITs, and CFTIs and also acts as a qualifying round for JEE Advanced examination. The January Session of JEE Main 2019 was already conducted and the April Session will be conducted from April 6 to 20. Given below is everything that you have to know about the JEE Mains 2019.

1.      How to register for JEE Mains?

The application form for JEE Main will be released online twice a year as the examination is conducted twice every year. The application for the January session was released in September 2018 while that for the April session will be available online from February 8 to March 7, 2019, in the official website of JEE. The authorities will accept no other mode of application. The scanned images of your passport size photograph and signature, according to the official specifications, have to be kept ready and the eligibility criteria have to be read before filling the application. True and valid details of your personal, academic and contact information have to be entered in the JEE Main application form. The application fee can be paid online or by e-challan. The acknowledgment form has to be printed at the end. You will not be allowed to attempt the Joint Entrance Examination if you do not register for the examination.

2.      What is the importance of JEE Mains 2019 syllabus?

The first and foremost thing related to cracking the JEE examination is how well you know the syllabus. Once you are done going through the syllabus, you will be able to decide how to allot time for different subjects and later study accordingly. The syllabus will also help you to identify the subject or topic that require more of your focus.

3.      How many papers are available in JEE Main 2019?

There are two papers, namely, Paper I and Paper II, in the JEE Main examination where the former is for B.tech admissions while the latter is for B.Arch. 30 objective questions will be asked from each section, i.e., Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, in Paper I while 30 and 50 objective questions from Mathematics and aptitude respectively along with 2 subjective drawing questions will be asked in Paper II.

4.      Is the Examination conducted online?

The JEE Main 2019 will be conducted only online, starting from this session. Nevertheless, the drawing section of JEE Main paper II will be held in pen-paper mode. The slots for the same will be allotted by the NTA authorities.

5.      What are the eligibility criteria for JEE Main this year?

Beginners should have qualified 12th standard qualifying (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The authorities have scrapped the weightage to 12th standard marks in calculating All India Ranks, however ,75% marks (65% marks for SC/ST category) in 12th is mandatory if you are aiming for admissions into NITs, IITs and CFTIs.

For Paper II, the candidate should score at least 50% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% aggregate marks in 10+2th standard (or equivalent) qualifying examination
